I'm holding a cold glass of iced tea because I'm too lazy to get a coaster

Well now—I’ve placed it on top of our water lamp.

The one that throws slow, wavy reflections onto the walls and ceiling, like the room itself is breathing.

A cat on my lap.
Another behind me.
One missing—until she suddenly appears to contest lap ownership with her sister. Typical. 🐈‍⬛🐈

It’s past midnight, and I’m sitting in the living room getting ready for work. I don’t usually do this. At this hour, I’m almost always in the bedroom with the air-conditioning on, defaulting to comfort over atmosphere.

But this weekend, my wife and I did a proper reset. We washed the living room carpet, reshuffled the furniture, added a lamp, cleaned the fan, and moved the projector out from the bedroom. The room feels… considered now.

Just cozy enough to be a space for both work and entertainment.

I still prefer the bedroom—but mostly because it makes me want to sleep more than work. This space, on the other hand, keeps me gently awake.

Of course, there’s also the possibility that I’m just sitting here to justify spending our weekend cleaning the house.

Either way, it worked.

Now time to get some work done.
