Hiatus Potatoes
The blog hiatus lasted way longer than I expected. Turns out, parenting a rapidly growing tiny human isn’t exactly a walk in the park (who knew?). I’ve practically forgotten how to string sentences together (parent life, am I right?). For those craving cozy family updates, my amazing wife runs a separate blog (check out her slice-of-life stories here). Over here, though, I stick to nerding out about random curiosities—think chaos magic, existential rabbit holes, and the universe’s weird little quirks. No overly personal diaries, just a self-proclaimed philosopher without a diploma (though I did ace my college philosophy classes, thank you very much).
Let’s be real
Fatherhood has a way of steamrolling your old hobbies. I still geek out over reality-bending topics, but these days, my wife and I are both craving something we rarely say out loud—stability. Huge shoutout to our village: My mother-in-law and brother-in-law have been superheroes, tackling errands and giving us pockets of sanity (and date nights!). My mom bombards us with care packages and texts, and I’m half-convinced she’d camp on our doorstep daily if transportation weren’t an issue.
Our big goal? Building a foundation—literally. We’re prioritizing budgeting and saving for a home while juggling full-time jobs and parenting. Adding a side hustle feels impossible right now (sleep is a myth), so we’re doubling down on smart saving instead.
Don’t worry—I’ll still rant about wild, obscure topics here. But lately, I’ve found magic in the mundane: the quiet triumph of a balanced budget, the chaos of adulting, and the art of building a life from scratch. Turns out, stability can be its own adventure.
For now, you can check out my old crazy scribbles (they can be fun).
Thanks for dropping by!
